O'Mara (21)
Shane's interests are didge playing, poetry and dance. He is
looking forward to the day when more blackfellas are recognised
on Australian tv for their special talent. |

Ritchie (26)
Gavin is currently studying dance at NAISDA (National Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander Skills Development Association).

Johnson (26)
Mary's interests are drama and music. She is currently enrolled
on a drama course at EORA College of Performing Arts in Redfern.

Tim
Bishop (24)
Originally from Canberra, Tim's interests are cartoons and dancing.
He sometimes describes himself as a nine year old trapped in
the body of an adult. Has studied at Naisda for two years and
looking forward to dancing and performing professionally.

Arlene
TextaQueen (24)
Arlene is originally from Western Australia. She is a talented
artist and specialises in drawing friends and performers in
Sydney in her unique texta style. She has held several exhibitions,
the most recent of which featured pictures of Lee Scratch Perry
and MC Trey. |

Natalie
Tickner (24)
Natalie is originally from Pitjinjarra mob in Alice Springs.
She likes sports, especially netball and soccer. It is her ambition
to perform more of her own songs. |

Jason
Prasad (26)
Jason lives in Sydney's Western Suburbs and came to the project
through his work at Blacktown Youth Services. He is passionate
about addressing Aboriginal social issues through film and has
just made his first short film about the difficult issue of
Aboriginal deaths in custody. |

Jon
Bruce (26)
Jon lives in Bondi Junction and joined the group having just
completed a hip-hop course at the Settlement neighbourhood centre.

Shane
McEwan (25)
Shane is from Kamilaroi mob in Canberra. He is a talented kickboxer
and more recently has been putting his energies into dance.
He enjoys drawing and painting and one of his ambitions is to
join the Bangarra Dance Group. |

Troy
Ruttley (23)
Troy has performed and choreographed dance performances on the
professional stage. He is currently in the process of opening
his own dance school in Minto in Sydney's Western Suburbs. He
is passionate about passing on indigenous culture, especially
dance to young people in the suburbs to that they can be proud
of their heritage. |

Catriona
McKenzie (Co-Writer / Director)
Indigenous director, Catriona McKenzie is currently finishing a
Masters Degree at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.
Catriona has directed a number of popular programs for the ABC and
recently won an AFI Award for her short film "Box".
Matt
Ford (Co-Writer)
Matt Ford is a talented screenwriter with a number of primetime
TV and feature film writing credits to his name including ABC's
"Wildside". He is currently touring with his band "Machinegun
Fellatio".
Lisa
Duff (Producer)
Lisa Duff is an award winning television producer whose programs
have been screened to wide acclaim both in Australia and abroad.
Enda
Murray (Project Devisor / Co-0rdinator) Irishman Enda Murray
has worked on broadcast and community arts projects in Ireland,
England, Holland, USA and Australia. His work has been screened
worldwide at film festivals and on television.
Leah
Purcell (Drama Coach)
Leah Purcell is an internationally renowned Aboriginal actor, singer
and writer. Her acclaimed one woman show "Box the Pony"
was performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 1999.
Jacqui
Millane (Drama Coach)
Jacqui Millane is an experienced Aboriginal dramatic artist currently
living and working in the Redfern area. Jacqui's tireless energy
and enthusiasm was essential to the success of "Road".
John
Blair (Drama Coach)
John is an experienced Koori actor and respected drama tutor. John
currently works at the EORA Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Redfern.

"Road"
is a Virus Media production in association with the Australian Film
Commission. Road was produced in collaboration with the Settlement
Neighbourhood Centre in Redfern and with the support of SBS Television,
NSW Film and Television Office, the Australian Film, Television
and Radio School, the Australia Council Community Cultural Development
Fund and the Department of Multicultural Affairs "Living in
Harmony" Scheme.
